Il-Mithna ta’ Randu
Beneath a wind-stirred Maltese sky,
The old mill stands with sails held high.
Through fractured lines, the past takes flight,
In sun-washed hues and morning light.

This work merges neo-cubist abstraction with local landscape realism, stylising form while preserving cultural identity. Angular contours and intersecting planes energise the composition, lending rhythm to both land and sky. Acrylics provide brightness and control, with bold outlining and rich saturation to emphasise structure and contrast. The result is a vibrant homage to Malta’s rural architecture reimagined through a modern lens.
