Swirls of color echo canals, alive,
A city’s rhythm, where vibrance thrives.
Shapes collide in a Venetian embrace,
A dynamic melody, capturing grace.

This acrylic on canvas employs bold abstraction, using dynamic brushstrokes and layered textures. The interplay of red, black, and vibrant tones conveys movement and energy. Through gestural marks and contrasting hues, the painting explores the essence of Venice in a contemporary, abstract interpretation. The piece combines spontaneity with controlled composition to evoke emotion.

Artist’s Note

This work is part of a vibrant and exploratory series completed during an intensive art workshop led by Senegalese artist Amadou Sow.
Deeply influenced by Sow’s micropainting technique, I embraced his layered and spontaneous approach to abstract storytelling.
The composition merges gestural freedom with symbolic structure, echoing Sow’s ethos of expressive reduction.
It stands as a testament to the creative spark ignited by cross-cultural artistic exchange and mentorship.
