Poetic Artistic Evaluation
A symphony of color, the canals resound,
Shapes and hues in rhythmic bounds.
Echoes of gondolas and whispered tides,
Venice’s soul in abstraction hides.

This acrylic on canvas embraces abstract expressionism, with layered geometric forms and bold, contrasting colours. The dominant blues and reds reflect the vibrancy of Venetian waters and architecture. The interplay of lines and textures creates movement and depth, offering a modern interpretation of Venice’s timeless charm. The composition fuses spontaneity with intentionality, inviting an emotional connection.

**Artist’s Note**

This work is part of a vibrant and exploratory series completed during an intensive art workshop led by Senegalese artist Amadou Sow.
Deeply influenced by Sow’s micropainting technique, I embraced his layered and spontaneous approach to abstract storytelling.
The composition merges gestural freedom with symbolic structure, echoing Sow’s ethos of expressive reduction.
It stands as a testament to the creative spark ignited by cross-cultural artistic exchange and mentorship.
