Abstract Venice 3

Canals dissolve into fractured hues,
Gondolas drift through crimson blues.
A city’s soul in broken light,
Venice reshaped in dreams of night.

Blending abstraction with emotional cadence, this work channels elements of Neo-Expressionism filtered through a micropainting lens.
The use of layered strokes, structured fragmentation, and dynamic chromatic contrasts evokes the rhythm of Venetian life reimagined.
Acrylics were applied with bold intent, merging freeform gesture with graphic accents and tonal modulation.
The result is a textured mosaic where colour, structure, and intuition engage in visual dialogue.

Artist’s Note
This piece is part of a series developed during a workshop led by Senegalese artist Amadou Sow.
His distinctive micropainting technique—built on fragmented layering and intuitive construction—influenced my approach throughout.
Each shape and colour reflects a moment of guided experimentation within that vibrant creative space.
