Le Roi C’est Moi

“Lines intertwine, a kingdom of strife,
Fragments of power, the pulse of life.
Shapes of chaos, yet order they claim,
A ruler emerges, staking their name.
‘Le Roi C’est Moi,’ the cry resounds,
In a fractured world, the crown rebounds.”

This work belongs to the Neo-Cubist tradition, rich in symbolic structure and stylised fragmentation. Bold outlines and saturated hues create a commanding composition, blending figuration and abstraction with rhythmic energy. The technique reflects an expressive, structured spontaneity, combining flat planes with ornamental motifs. Its regal presence evokes personal sovereignty through visual metaphor.

Artist’s Note:
Painted during a critical chapter of my life while undergoing surgical procedures in Italy to preserve my voice, this work became both refuge and rebellion—a declaration of inner resilience. In colour and form, I reasserted the sovereignty of self, even as I faced the vulnerability of silence.
